Breast Cancer Awareness Necklace

Breast cancer is the most commom cause of cancer in women and the second most common cause of death for women in the U.S. (It's the leading cause of death for women between the ages of 45 and 55). Even though breast cancer is usually diagnosed as a result of an abnormality seen on a mammogram (a lump or change in consistency of the breast tissue), heightened awareness has led to increased detection of cancers in earlier stages and a resultant improvement in survival rates. Even so, there is so much work that can and needs to be done to improve awareness and women's health.

The pendant, with the word Hope on it, is a reminder that there is hope in detecting and being cured from the disease. This pendant was designed with a heart, which symbolizes the concern all women have for their sisters throughout the world.
